2 min readA Reddit user going by the name laurenvipham has taken to the platform to voice a complaint about popular YouTuber MrBeast, claiming they are owed $1,000 from a 2020 talent show. The post, titled “MrBeast owes me $1,000,” has garnered significant attention and sparked discussions among the online community.
In their post, laurenvipham recounted the circumstances of the talent show, where they performed and won a $2,000 prize for their singing. The show featured well-known internet personalities MrBeast, Quackity, and Dream as judges. According to laurenvipham, they only received half of the promised prize money from Quackity, while MrBeast and Dream did not fulfill their commitments.
“Hi everyone, I’m scared of Twitter (haha) so I’m coming onto Reddit to share my experience: in 2020, I won a 2k prize for my singing in a Talent show with MrBeast, Quackity, and Dream. Of the three judges, only Quackity gave me his half of the prize. Mr. Beast and Dream did not. :(” they wrote, expressing both frustration and a touch of humor.
Despite their repeated attempts to contact the parties involved and even creating a petition, laurenvipham claims they have not received any responses. They shared, “I tried contacting them, making a petition, & nothing.”
Initially, laurenvipham chose to view the situation with understanding, considering MrBeast’s reputation for extensive charitable work. “I just accepted it and appreciated the kindness and opportunity of the show and what it has given me. Saying to myself that he was busy helping people truly in need. But 4 years later– seeing this video makes me feel a little ;/”
The decision to speak out now was influenced by ongoing discussions and allegations involving MrBeast. Laurenvipham explained, “I commented on this on the video linked, and after seeing all the allegations, I feel a strong urge to try and be heard as well, since I feel like this is my only chance.”
To substantiate their claims, laurenvipham provided a link to a YouTube video documenting their experience and victory in the talent show. They emphasized that their goal was not to cancel MrBeast but to be heard and seek resolution. “For anyone who wants to ensure I am who I am, you can watch my video on my experience and winning the challenge, additionally, I’m not looking to cancel MrBeast on my experience, but more so using this moment to be heard.”
They concluded their heartfelt post with gratitude and a request for support and advice from the Reddit community. “Thank you for reading the whole way, if you have any questions let me know, and any help/advice/support is enormously appreciated. <3”
As the post continues to circulate, it has ignited a broader conversation about accountability and transparency among influencers and content creators. Whether MrBeast or any of the other judges will respond to these claims remains to be seen, but the situation highlights the complex dynamics of online fame and the expectations placed on internet personalities.
