Raquel Lee Bolleau Reveals Amanda Bynes Allegedly Spit in Her Face Multiple Times During ‘The Amanda Show’

Raquel Lee Bolleau, known for her role in “The Amanda Show,” has made shocking allegations against her former co-star Amanda Bynes, claiming that Bynes spat in her face multiple times during filming.

In the fifth episode of “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” Raquel Lee Bolleau recounted a disturbing incident from their time on the hit Nickelodeon show. She recalled a skit called “The Literals,” where Bynes had to do a spit-take with liquid in her mouth. However, Bolleau alleged that Bynes went beyond the scene’s requirements and repeatedly spat directly in her face without any prompting.

Despite others finding it amusing, Raquel Lee Bolleau expressed her discomfort and frustration, particularly after the third instance. She described feeling infuriated by Bynes’ actions. Bolleau claimed that the director, acknowledging Bynes’ status as the star of the show, advised her to remain composed and not make a fuss about the situation.

Raquel Lee Bolleau, the only black girl in the scene, further alleged that the director cautioned her not to escalate the issue, indicating a disparity in treatment. According to her, the director assured her that he would speak to Bynes about refraining from spitting but emphasized the need for Bolleau to maintain her composure.

In a clip from the scene in question, Bynes portrayed Leslie Literal, a character known for taking figures of speech literally. When prompted by Bolleau’s character to reveal who asked her to the school dance, Bynes responded by spitting out lemon water all over Bolleau.

Raquel Lee Bolleau’s revelations add to a growing conversation about the treatment of child actors in the entertainment industry, particularly at networks like Nickelodeon. Former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider has faced allegations of fostering a toxic work environment, while actor Drake Bell sued a former Nickelodeon dialogue coach for sexual abuse in 2004.

Bynes, however, did not participate in the docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.” The series is currently available for streaming on Max and Discovery+.
