Ultimately, the song didn’t make the cut. Despite being hailed as a GOAT rapper with an unmatched career, Nicki Minaj has yet to win a Grammy award. While her dedicated fanbase was expecting this year to be a turning point, they were disappointed.

According to voters last month, the song, which samples Rick James’ “Super Freak,” is not a traditional rap song and is therefore only being considered in the pop categories.
