Before actually putting on the boxing gloves for a fight between Jake Paul & Hasim Rahman Jr., they had a battle of words on social media. Well, it seems the cancellation of the fight of both Hasim and Jake has taken a different turn. While they are now both blaming each other for the fight not happening.

Hasim Rahman Jr. and Jake Paul had a fight this august
Jake Paul has been growing popular as a professional boxer. As his fight with his opponents always grabs media attention. However, for the month of August, Jake Paul was supposed to get in the boxing ring with another iconic boxer Hasim Rahman Jr. That was scheduled to happen on 6th of august at the Madison Square Garden.
Unfortunately, it seems obvious now that it isn’t happening. The reason for which has not yet been clarified. As both, parties finalised the fight is blaming each other for its cancellation. While previously Jake Paul gave his reaction on the cancellation of the fight with Hasim. Hasim too has come up with a response that doesn’t match Jake’s response.
Jake Paul’s reason for the cancellation of the fight
Week before the fight between Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. could have happened. The announcement from Most Valuable Promotions (Jake’s company) came that the fight between Paul and Hasim isn’t happening. Further, it also added that there’s going to be no new opponent and reschedule happening either. Hence, the audience having tickets/PPV would get a refund.
The reason for the cancelled fight first came from Jake. Where in a video he said that Hasim wasn’t cutting down to the standard weight of 205 pounds for the fight. Adding more he said that Hasim wanted the weight limits to be as high as 215 pounds. As a reason, Hasim took back his name from the fight.

Apart from the reason given by Jake Paul for the cancelled fight of him with Hasim. Hasim now has come with his part of the story. As per Hasim Rahman Jr. it was Jake and his team who cancelled the fight not him. According to him, within a time frame of 3 ½ weeks, he was to come down to 200 pounds which was signed in his contract.
However, with that much time, he could come down to 215 pounds only. Further, he said, “Where in boxing do you see them cancelling fights a whole week in advance?”. Hasim said that he wasn’t even given his last week to bring down the lowest pounds he could get. Hence it seems Hasim is still ready to fight Jake. While Jake is yet to respond on Hasim’s reaction.
