Priscilla Presley’s Wish: Buried Beside ex-husband Elvis Presley at Graceland
3 min readOn Piers Morgan’s TalkTV show, Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla Presley spoke openly about her famed family. The 78-year-old, who was wed to the late King of Rock and Roll from 1967 to 1973, has stated she will be buried alongside him on the Graceland estate when she dies. According to the official blog for Elvis Presley’s Memphis residence, Priscilla met Elvis in Germany when she was just a teenager in September 1959. A judge has authorised Priscilla’s settlement with her granddaughter Riley Keough over Lisa-Marie’s bequest.
One of the terms of the agreement is that Priscilla be buried as near to Elvis’ plot as feasible. On Thursday’s episode of Piers Morgan: Uncensored, the outspoken journalist inquired about being buried next to Elvis. “Well, my emotions are great,” she said. That’s exactly what I wanted.” “You’d like to be buried alongside Elvis,” Piers said, to which she answered, “Yes.” When the TalkTV host questioned if it was going to occur, the star simply said, “Yes.” The interview on Piers Morgan: Uncensored followed her emotional appearance on the show on Wednesday regarding the death of her daughter Lisa-Marie. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office verified earlier this year that she died of a bowel obstruction at the age of 54.
After her death, Priscilla Presley states she would be buried next to her ex-husband Elvis Presley
After her death, Priscilla Presley’s interest to be buried at Graceland alongside her ex-husband Elvis Presley will be granted. According to PEOPLE, months following the actress & her granddaughter Riley Keough resolved Lisa Marie Presley’s trust, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lynn Scaduto finally signed off on the agreement on Tuesday. According to an unredacted filing by Keough’s attorney obtained through PEOPLE on Friday, the formal records affirm Priscilla’s burial wish, among other things. Priscilla is scheduled to be buried in Graceland’s Meditation Garden, which Keough currently owns since Elvis passed it down to Lisa Marie and later to her. Elvis’ mother, Gladys Presley, grandmother, Minnie Mae, father, Vernon Presley, Lisa Marie & her son, plus Keough’s brother, Benjamin Keough, who passed away by suicide in 2020, are all buried in the Meditation Garden alongside Elvis. Scaduto also confirmed that Priscilla will get a $1 million lump sum from her daughter’s $25 million life insurance policy, as Page Six reported in June. Priscilla will also get $100,000 each year in monthly payments for her function as special counsel to the family trust over the shareholder interest in Elvis Presley Enterprises.
According to the contracts, payments are ensured for ten years or until Priscilla’s death. The papers also state that Priscilla’s kid, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, whom she has with her producer ex Marco Garibaldi, will be a beneficiary of Lisa Marie’s trust. Lisa Marie died on January 12 at the age of 54 after experiencing cardiac arrest due to complications from a tiny bowel obstruction, according to Page Six. Shortly after, Priscilla questioned “the legitimacy and validity” of her daughter’s will following learning she had been replaced as manager of Elvis’ estate without her knowledge by 34-year-old Riley. In August, the “Daisy Jones & the Six” artist confessed that the legal struggle had challenged but not ruined her relationship with her grandma. Priscilla became tearful when she discussed her daughter’s death with The Post writer Piers Morgan this week, revealing she had endured acute stomach pains at the 2023 Golden Globes, wherein Austin Butler won Best Actor for his rendition of Elvis.
