Pete Davidson Set to Make a Comeback as ‘Saturday Night Live’ Host on May 6

A major bang is on the way for Pete Davidson on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Page Six exclusively learned. On May 6, nearly a year after he left “SNL,” Davidson will host the sketch comedy show for the very first time. A source close to Davidson told Page Six that he is looking forward to going back. [Leaving the show] has been a change for him but in a good way. According to reports, the unlikely Hollywood lothario is expected to attend the Met Gala days before he debuts on “SNL.” The show will serve as a promotional event for “Bupkis,” an upcoming Peacock comedy series which Lorne Michaels used to head.

One source says Lorne has always been an enthusiastic supporter of Pete’s creative vision, and Pete values Lorne’s opinion. The series is based on Davidson’s childhood on Staten Island, which he wrote, produced, and starred in. In addition, he managed to convince Joe Pesci to come out of retirement to play his grandfather, and Edie Falco to play his mother. There will be a slew of guest stars on the show, including Charlie Day, Al Gore, Bobby Cannavale, John Mulaney, La La Anthony, and Machine Gun Kelly, Davidson’s best friend.

Pete Davidson Is Returning To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’

According to reports, Pete Davidson will host Saturday Night Live on May 6. “Pete Davidson is expected to attend the Met Gala on Monday, according to Page Six. It should be fine since the host doesn’t really have to get involved until the table read. Davidson’s new Peacock show Bupkis, premiering May 4, will be promoted at both events. His grandfather is played by Joe Pesci, his mother by Edie Falco, and a shirtless Simon Rex and Chase Sui Wonders are also featured. This series is based on Davidson’s experiences growing up on Staten Island, which he wrote, produced and stars in. Davidson recently expressed some hurt about jokes made about his current paramour Chase Sui Wonder on Saturday Night Live. It was reported that he visited a friend and looked at houses in Stewart’s Bedford, NY, hometown last weekend, where he was with his girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders. His journey was even accompanied by a good luck charm from Stewart. Martha Stewart gave him new eggs! according to the source. He started showing up on the legendary late-night comedy NBC show SNL in 2014.
