In response to criticism aimed at him for arriving at a lavish party on horseback, CeeLo Green has hit back. Following his grand entrance on Wednesday to the party held in honour of the late Shawty Lo on what would have been his 47th birthday, Gnarls Barkley’s frontman broke his silence on Friday. In September 2016, Shawty Lo was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Fulton County, Georgia. Green and he was close friends. On horseback, Green arrived at the Atlanta celebration party in spectacular fashion.

In addition to being spooked by the flashing lights and loud noise from the guests, the animal had difficulty standing on the tiles. This caused the horse to buckle, sending the singer crashing to the ground. Ceelo Green’s actions were condemned by the animal rights organization PETA. The obvious conclusion is that horses should not be allowed at noisy, crowded parties, where slippery floors and strobe lights will agitate them. Later in an Instagram post, Green explained his side of the story.

CeeLo Green Responds To The Backlash He Got Over His Viral Riding Horse In The Club Video

As a reaction to the backlash he received for riding a horse into Shawty Lo’s birthday celebration, CeeLo Green has responded. CeeLo posted an explanation of his recent stunt on Instagram on Friday (March 24). The Goodie Mob rapper captioned a picture of himself smiling from ear to ear. Listen, you all know me, don’t you? he began. You know I’m crazy, are you really that surprised? My thought was to make a grand entrance on this beautiful animal at the birthday/life celebration for our beloved Shawty Lo in #atlanta (For your information, I love animals of all kinds, as I actually live on a ranch). My sense of humour is well-known among my friends and family. That’s how I show #love. We went through all the proper channels and it should’ve been short and sweet, but some malfunctions occurred and that’s what it is. Know that I’m ok and of course, the horse is ok as well. For me, it’s just another day at work. I would like to thank all of the fans and supporters for their love and concern. Long live LO.

In the video, CeeLo Green rides into Shawty Lo’s birthday party on a horse and falls off that horse on Wednesday night (March 22) which has since gone viral on the internet. PETA also felt some way about the failed spectacle, according to TMZ. In a statement to the celebrity news site, the animal rights group said, It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses shouldn’t be enjoying noisy, crowded parties on slippery floors. Atop the stallion, Green – who had on a jacket with a large chain and his signature sunglasses – was escorted into the party by two men in cowboy hats. It was apparent that the horse was nervous at one point – and on the verge of losing balance. Just before the incident was captured on camera, a partygoer who was filming the scene yelled, Man, CeeLo got a horse in that bitch. As he jumped to his feet with a smile on his face, Green didn’t let the tumble dampen his spirits.
