More about Katy Perry’s coronation performance
Katy Perry took part in King Charles III’s coronation concert on 7th May. In addition, she performed with an audience of 20,000.
Subsequently, the special concert included performances from other artists such as Take That, Olly Murs as well as Lionel Richie.
Furthermore, the 38-year-old singer had said in a previous interview that it was ‘so cool’ to be invited to perform for the newly crowned King and Queen.
Perry candidly spoke about being invited during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
She stated, ‘I’m grateful I get to go. I met His-Majesty-to-be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking.’
She added, ‘So I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, “Hey, this is me from the USA.” No, but it’s so cool.’
Nevertheless, Perry dedicated her hit single Firework to King Charles during her performance.
Meanwhile, the mother of one caused a stir online earlier around the coronation weekend when pictures of her surfaced on social media.
In the photos, Perry seems like she could not find her seat at the ceremony.
