Chaos at Co-op Live Arena: Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts Manchester Tour Dates Postponed Amid Technical Issues

Olivia Rodrigo’s eagerly anticipated “Guts” tour dates in Manchester have been met with disappointment and frustration as technical issues at the new Co-op Live Arena forced the postponement of her shows. Fans, who were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the “good 4 u” hitmaker live, expressed their dismay over the last-minute cancellation, labeling the situation “a joke.”

The tour, which commenced with a performance at Dublin’s 3Arena on April 30, marked Rodrigo’s UK and European leg as she enthralled audiences with tracks from her latest album, “Guts,” along with songs from her debut album, “Sour.” However, the excitement was dampened for fans in Manchester, where Rodrigo was slated to perform on May 3 and 4.

Co-op Live Arena announced the postponement just two days before the scheduled shows, citing ongoing technical issues at the venue. In a message posted

on X (formerly Twitter), the arena stated, “Due to an ongoing venue-related technical issue, the scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour on 3rd and 4th May are being postponed.” Ticket holders were given the option to retain their tickets for the rescheduled dates or obtain a refund.

The abrupt cancellation left fans disheartened, with many expressing frustration over the lack of notice. Some attendees had traveled significant distances, including one fan who flew from Chile, only to face the disappointment of a postponed event. Others lamented the financial repercussions, with expenses incurred for travel and accommodation now going to waste.

Criticism mounted against the arena management, with calls for compensation and even suggestions to shut down the venue. The Oak View Group, responsible for the arena, clarified that the issue stemmed from a separation in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, emphasizing that no injuries were reported. Despite this explanation, the inconvenience and disappointment experienced by fans were palpable.
