Here is everything you need to know.

Robert Crimo III admits to drug abuse

According to a recent report by Highland Park police states that Robert Crimo III was a ‘clear and present danger’ after he allegedly threatened to kill his family.

In the report from the incident that took place on 5th September 2019, the cops mentioned that Crimo (then 18) admitted that he had a history of drug use and was depressed.

However, Crimo alleged that had no plans to hurt himself or anyone.

The redacted case report insists that a family member ‘was afraid to go home due to the nature of this threat.’ It further adds that Crimo ‘had a collection of knives in his bedroom.’

During the wellness check, three years ago, the cops removed 16 knives, a 12-inch dagger, and a 24-inch Samurai blade from Crimo’s house.

However, the firearms were collected four hours later by Crimo’s father. He claimed that ‘the collection of knives belongs to him.’

The document identified Crimo as a person, ‘who, if granted access to a firearm or firearm ammunition, pose an actual, imminent threat of substantial bodily harm to themselves or another person(s) that is articulable and significant or who will likely act in a manner dangerous to the public interest.’

Lake County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christopher Covelli has previously confirmed that the alleged Fourth of July massacre suspect applied for gun licensing.

Covelli added that Crimo’s application was approved despite his two run-ins with law enforcement. It was also revealed that they were not stated in his background checks.

Meanwhile, with the reports that have come to light recently, many questions are being raised. People are wondering whether the blood massacre could have been prevented if the alleged shooter was unable to get his hands on the firearm.

Highland Park shooting

Robert Crimo III opened fire from a rooftop during the fourth of July celebration on a street in Illinois, Chicago.

The tragic incident took the lives of seven victims and ended up wounding dozens of people.

The 21-year-old is booked under seven counts of first-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Moreover, Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart has said, ‘There will be many, many more charges coming.’

If Crimo is found guilty of the charges, he is to be behind the bars for the rest his life. He will also not be granted any possibility of parole.
