Politico’s opinion piece sought to persuade readers that Jon Stewart should run for president in 2024. To start off with the “seriousness” question. Stewart defines himself as an entertainer by debating the kinds of importance. Serious issues that real politicians are skilled at avoiding. He spends his time producing an AppleTV show. And podcast interview program on controversial themes including abortion, gun control, misinformation, modern monetary theory, and other wonky-current topics. Judd Apatow and Mark Cuban will occasionally make a visit for added glitz.
I like Jon Stewart. I think he's a genuinely good guy and tries to use his influence to help others, for the most part.

But we've got to stop throwing celebrities into the public policy arena just bc the masses think it would be a cool show.
That's how we got here.
Tweets from Jon Stewart
So he’s definitely engaged enough for the job, the op-ed said. The greater reason, though, is that he fits modern politics better than most politicians do. However, rejecting the notion, Jon summed up his thoughts on Twitter by writing, “Ummm…No thank you.” Fox News personality Tucker Carlson’s potential presidential run initially gave rise to the Jon Stewart conspiracy hypothesis. Then, he put an end to the rumors by declaring his lack of interest in seeking the presidency. The station has kindly given me permission to take some time off to be with my family in Texas, she informed her Facebook audience. Today, my dad is supposed to be discharged from the hospital and go home with hospice care. He requested yesterday to have his nasal feeding tube removed.
Can we please stop doing the thing where we’re like “oh, a politically savvy celebrity, THEY SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENT.” I like Jon Stewart, but he’s never held elected office & that *should* matter when we’re deciding who gets to lead the country. https://t.co/SaDV6Cd9qq

I'd max out donations and volunteer 8hrs/7days/however many weeks for that campaign! Sanity and integrity is EXACTLY what's missing in the current political environment.
