House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi was charged with drunk driving over the weekend in California.
Paul Pelosi was arrested by cops around midnight in Napa County, California.
As per a sheriff’s office online booking report, he was charged with two misdemeanor counts. One for driving under the influence of alcohol. The other one was driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher.

TMZ first reported the incident on Sunday. As per the outlet, Paul Pelosi was booked at the police station at nearly 4:13 am Sunday.
The online report mentions that only a few hours later Paul was released from the jail at 7:26 am. His bail was reportedly set at $5,000.
Further details on the California Democrats’ husband’s arrest were not immediately revealed to the public. It remains unknown whether Paul was driving alone or was accompanied by someone else during his arrest.
Paul’s wife, Nancy Pelosi was not involved in his arrest or his bail, as per the sources at the Napa, California, Police Department.
The Napa County Sheriff’s office is yet to comment on Paul’s arrest.
Drew Hammill, a spokesperson for Nancy, stated ‘the Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.’
The Speaker was not in California during her husband’s arrest. She was visiting Providence, Rhode Island to deliver the commencement speech at Brown University on Sunday just mere hours following Paul’s arrest.
The congresswoman told the students,’ Graduates, you are our hope. We know this: Hope is the most powerful weapon against threats against democracy. We should have hope because we believe in America.’
According to a report by the Boston Globe, a person screamed ‘we need gun control’ during Nancy’s speech. Another person supposedly yelled ‘criminal’ at her.
