Twitch streamer and 100 Thieves CEO Matthew Haag, popularly known as Nadeshot, recently confronted YouTuber Keemstar after his media outlet, DramaAlert, posted an old video clip of him discussing his nicotine addiction. The clip, posted on July 1, 2024, quickly went viral, amassing over a million views.

The Controversial Clip

Nadeshot has been transparent about his struggles with nicotine addiction, often sharing his experiences and challenges on social media. He has spoken candidly about using nicotine-infused supplements and his efforts to quit. However, the resurfacing of an old clip by DramaAlert seems to have struck a nerve with the 100 Thieves CEO.

In the video, Nadeshot talks about the difficulties he faced after quitting nicotine earlier this year. He candidly shares the health issues he experienced, including severe stomach problems that persisted even after two months of quitting:

“Everything in my life has been substantially worse since I quit nicotine. I am not even trying to gas it. I don’t want anyone to say, ‘Yo, just wait six months. Wait a year.’ I am telling you, brother, it has been almost, I am not two months yet off the nicotine, and some people say 90 days or whatever, my stomach has been in shambles since I quit the zins and it has not recovered.”

He further detailed the array of health problems he was dealing with:

“I am light-headed throughout the day, and I feel f*cking dizzy. My ADHD is going crazy. I don’t have control of my temper. I mean I have control, I know when I am angry. All of these things I used to have kept away and they were not problems in my life anymore.”

Nadeshot’s Response

The viral clip prompted Nadeshot to call out Keemst ar directly. Clearly frustrated by the resurfacing of old content, Nadeshot took to X

to express his discontent:

“I’m across the country & can’t believe you went deep in the bag from weeks ago to tweet this shi*. I’ve been around the block for a decade and a half & can say this is by far & away the slowest news day this account has ever had. You gotta find someone new brother. @KEEMSTAR”

Nadeshot’s tweet highlighted his irritation at DramaAlert for digging up old content and implied that the platform was experiencing a slow news day, thus resorting to rehashing past events.

Nadeshot’s openness about his nicotine addiction and the challenges of quitting has resonated with many of his followers, making his journey a point of public interest. Despite his efforts to quit, he revealed in a stream last month that he had resumed using nicotine. He explained that nicotine helped him with his digestion issues and ADHD, suggesting that his battle with addiction is ongoing and complex.

Community Reaction

The online community has had mixed reactions to the situation. Many fans expressed support for Nadeshot, appreciating his honesty and vulnerability in sharing his struggles. Others criticized DramaAlert for sensationalizing his personal issues for views.

One fan commented on the viral clip:

“Thank you, Nadeshot, for being so real about your struggles. It takes a lot of courage to share this. Shame on DramaAlert for exploiting it.”

Nadeshot’s public call-out of Keemstar and DramaAlert highlights the often contentious relationship between content creators and media outlets. While Nadeshot’s journey with nicotine addiction continues to garner attention, his candidness serves as a reminder of the human struggles behind the online personas many fans admire. The incident also underscores the ethical considerations media outlets should keep in mind when sharing sensitive content about individuals’ personal lives.
