Missy Elliott is determined to walk into the new year with positive energy. Moreover, she is urging her friends and fans to do the same in 2023.

Missy Elliott will not let negative energy ruin her 2023
Missy Elliott took to her Instagram handle on the first day of the new year, to spread a message about love and peace.
Additionally, she encouraged everyone to embrace a fearless attitude to achieve their goals.
Elliott posted a video of herself where she is seen urging her fans and friends to get rid of the negative energy in 2023 to manifest their dreams.
She said, ‘I wanna say Happy New Year to everyone! Now listen, you gotta walk into 2023 being fearless.’
Moreover, she continued, ‘You gotta make sure that the friends that you around match your energy. You don’t need nobody lazy around you or with negative energy because you don’t want nothing to block your blessing.’
Elliott went on to say, ‘So make sure that you are full of peace and happiness and whatever you wanna do, you do it this year!’
She added, ‘Anything that you wanna become, you become it this year! Have drive, have consistency. And yeah, 2023 is yours! We gon’ already claim that.’
Meanwhile, Elliott outlined the post with a similar caption that read, ‘It’s gonna be a PRODUCTIVE & PROSPEROUS YEAR because you gonna step out on FAITH. Mentally you gonna be in a better space than before! JUST CLAIM IT 2023 is YOURS!’

Missy Elliott became the first female rapper to obtain six RIAA platinum-certified albums consecutively in January.
In addition, her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia honored the musical genius by naming a local street after her in August. The Portsmouth City Council unanimously decided that a street in the entertainment sector will be renamed Missy Elliott Boulevard.
Besides that, multiple rappers including the likes of Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj celebrated the news by sending Elliott flowers.
Weezy on the other hand talked about Elliott while placing her on his Top 5 rappers list during an interview with Fox Sports host Nick Wright.
He can be heard saying, ‘It’s always gonna be first Missy Elliott.’
Besides that, Elliott went on to unveil her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas a few weeks later.
Also, she received her second honorary degree from Norfolk State University. She was presented with the honor in November.
