The 72nd Miss Universe pageant, Miss Universe 2023, is almost around the corner. On November 18, this prominent worldwide beauty contest will take place in El Salvador’s José Adolfo Pineda Arena. However, it appears that viewers will not be able to see Qi Jia, the Chinese representative, participate in the beauty pageant. The 72nd Miss Universe pageant is set to take place from November 15 to 18. This month started with the arrival of all delegates in El Salvador. Unfortunately, visa issues led Qi Jia’s arrival to be postponed. As a result of skipping several other events scheduled before the finale, Qi Jia was forced to step down as the representative this year. The Miss Universe China official page shared the news on Instagram. Later, it was revealed that Qi Jia’s journey would not end there and that China was going to be represented in the Miss Universe 2024 competition the following year by the 2023 Miss Universe China!

Due to visa processing difficulties, China’s delegate, Qi Jia, wasn’t able to take part in this year’s event. While Qi Jia made it to El Salvador, where the pageant is being held, she missed more than a week of pre-event events due to the visa delay. The Miss Universe China official page released the update on Instagram. The Miss Universe competition regions will take place from November 15 to November 18. The organising committee as well as the champion, Ms. Jia Qi, initiated visa procedures as soon as her coronation was made public and actively got ready for the world finals, but due to the tardiness of issuance, she travelled to El Salvador shortly as the visa was issued and he lost over a week’s worth of activities, making him unable to participate in this year’s international event.”
Despite the tragic turn of events, the Chinese delegation confirmed that Qi Jia, a former athlete, will be able to compete in the 73rd Miss Universe competition next year.
