Mike Tyson calls out Hulu for ‘stealing’ his life story

Mike Tyson took to social media to take a jab at Hulu. He claimed that the streaming platform had produced their new biographical series, ‘Mike’ without his permission.

The former professional heavyweight boxer also mentions that the service did not pay him any compensation for telling his story.

He wrote in a post, ‘Don’t let Hulu fool you. I don’t support their story about my life. It’s not 1822. It’s 2022. They stole my life story and didn’t pay me. To Hulu executives, I’m just a n****r they can sell on the auction block.’

The legendary athlete outlined the post with a caption that read, ‘Hulu is the streaming version of the slave master. They stole my story and didn’t pay me.’

Tyson’s recent post comes after he shared an image to commend UFC president Dana White for refusing the streamer’s offer to promote, ‘Mike’.

The 56-year-old sportsman shared a picture of himself alongside White.

His caption read, ‘Hulu tried to desperately pay my brother Dana White millions without offering me a dollar to promote their slave master take over the story about my life.’

He further added, ‘He turned it down because he honors friendship and treating people with dignity. I’ll never forget what he did for me just like I’ll never forget what Hulu stole from me.’

Fans support Mike Tyson

Following Mike Tyson’s claims, many fans took to the post’s comment section to show their support for their idol.

One fan wrote, ‘I’m not supporting Hulu on this.’

While another chimed in saying, ‘In the honor of Mike Tyson’s legacy, let’s all unsubscribe to Hulu.’

Someone pointed out, ‘@Hulu this is very disgraceful behavior. Do better.’

Hulu announced that they will be producing a series based on Mike Tyson’s life in June 2022. It will follow the ups and downs the legendary boxer faced in his life.

Trevante Rhodes is set to appear in the titular role of Mike Tyson. 

Moreover, the series will also star Russell Hornsby, Harvey Keitel, Laura Harrier, and Li Eubanks in the supporting roles. 

Steven Rogers has reportedly created the series. He is recognized for writing and producing the 2017 dark comedy film I, Tonya.

The series is scheduled to hit the screens of the streaming giant on 25th August.
