Mike Tyson reportedly experienced a medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, just weeks before his highly anticipated fight with Jake Paul. According to In Touch Weekly, the 58-year-old boxing legend required medical attention after becoming nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening, 30 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land. Tyson’s publicist’s office later released a statement confirming the situation: “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He is appreciative of the medical staff that were there to help him.”

The report indicates that Tyson’s sudden illness caused a delay upon landing in Los Angeles as paramedics attended to the former world heavyweight champion. Concern arose about the potential impact on Tyson’s upcoming fight against Jake Paul, scheduled for Saturday, July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However, a spokesperson reassured fans by telling the Mirror that Mike Tyson is “doing great.”

An eyewitness on the flight described the scene to In Touch Weekly: “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even appeared on everyone’s screens.”

The eyewitness further detailed the moments before the emergency: “There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognized him, and a few people got pictures. He was very accommodating. He was in first class, but we were in an exit row and the stewardess was very chatty. They asked us to stay on the plane after it landed so paramedics could enter.”

Following the news of Tyson’s medical emergency, Jake Paul took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the situation. He criticized the media for spreading misinformation, stating, “The media make sh*t up before knowing the facts for clicks.” He reassured fans that “nothing has changed,” indicating that the fight is still on as planned.

Mike Tyson, now 57, has issued a stark warning to Paul, 27, ahead of their bout, suggesting that Paul’s life will be on the line when they meet in the ring. This fight will mark Tyson’s return to professional boxing after his last fight in 2005, while Paul aims to improve his 9-1 boxing record.

The incident has undoubtedly raised concerns, but Tyson’s camp remains confident that he will be ready to face Paul in the ring, continuing to build anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling matchup.
