In a surprising break from tradition, former First Lady Melania Trump has reportedly declined an invitation from Jill Biden for a customary meeting at the White House. The decision, which has generated significant buzz, is said to be tied to the FBI’s controversial raid on the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The raid, authorized by the Biden administration during an investigation into classified documents, appears to have left a lasting impact on Melania Trump, influencing her decision to steer clear of any formal interactions with the current First Lady.

Unlike in 2016, when Michelle Obama graciously hosted Melania for tea to welcome her into the role of First Lady, this year’s transition has been notably different. Despite receiving a similar invitation from Jill Biden, Melania opted out of the traditional meeting that usually symbolizes a smooth transition of power. According to sources cited by the New York Post, Melania’s refusal to meet Jill Biden is deeply rooted in her anger over the FBI raid, which she claims invaded her privacy.

The FBI’s search, carried out at Mar-a-Lago in 2022, reportedly involved the inspection of personal items, leaving Melania feeling violated. In her recently released memoir, Melania voiced her frustration over the incident, openly criticizing the government for what she described as a breach of her privacy. She highlighted the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, expressing disbelief that her private belongings were scrutinized in her own home. “I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America,” she said, underscoring her dissatisfaction with the Biden administration.

Reports also indicate that the tension between the Trumps and Bidens extends beyond Melania’s refusal. The two couples have not had any personal interaction since the contentious 2020 election, which Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed was unfairly won by Joe Biden. While their spouses did engage in a phone conversation, Melania and Jill have yet to speak. A source close to the matter informed The Daily Mail, “Mrs. Trump is not going, and they have not spoken.”

In contrast, back in 2016, the Trumps were warmly welcomed by the Obamas during the last days of Barack Obama’s presidency. However, the tradition of a cordial meeting was disrupted in 2020 when Donald Trump, refusing to concede the election results, did not extend an invitation to the Bidens for a pre-inauguration meeting.

Despite the ongoing feud, the current administration is pushing forward with plans to ensure a peaceful transfer of power. President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with President Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday, a gesture aimed at upholding the democratic tradition, even if Melania is choosing to sit this one out.

Interestingly, Melania’s absence from the political spotlight during Trump’s 2024 campaign was noted by many observers. She kept a low profile, rarely appearing at campaign events or public functions. When asked about her plans as the potential incoming First Lady, insiders revealed that Melania is still reluctant to step back into the limelight. Jill Biden’s attempts to establish a friendly rapport by extending a tea invitation were met with outright rejection, further fueled by Melania’s disdain for the Biden administration.

While the Bidens have assured a peaceful handover of power to the Trump administration, the personal animosities between the two families are more apparent than ever. Jill Biden had reportedly hoped that a meeting with Melania would help ease tensions, but that hope was dashed when Melania firmly declined, labeling the Bidens as “disgusting” in private conversations, according to sources.

As the countdown to Donald Trump’s return to the White House begins, it’s clear that the lingering bitterness from past political battles continues to shape the relationship between these high-profile families. With Melania drawing a firm line in the sand, it remains to be seen if any form of reconciliation is possible between the former and current First Families.
