Once again, Megan Thee Stallion is suing her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. Her latest dispute centers around what is considered an album. A recent compilation she released was Something For Thee Hotties. It was not recognized as an album by her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

Megan Thee Stallion filed an album-definition complaint in Harris County District Court on February 18. She sought a determination that the album she released, Something for Thee Hotties, constituted an album in accordance with her contract.

Megan Thee Stallion’s label denies the accusations

1501 informed the rapper that Something For Thee Hotties was not considered an album. It was under her contract on January 5, more than two months after the song was published.

Megan’s contract specifies that a release of more than 45 minutes is an album. After the allegations were made, the label denied them. The label told Billboard that there is no agreement regarding what counts as an album. They also said Megan was informed of this before it was released.

In a statement, 1501’s lawyer claimed that Savage released his album without approval from the label. And the label has full confidence in the contract.

Megan has rifted with her label before

According to Megan Thee Stallion, she sued her record label in August 2021 because they refused to allow BTS to release a song with her. Megan was then told that she would have to pay $100,000 if she wanted to participate. It was not her right.

Megan had previously complained that 1501 prevented the release of her new music in March 2020 in a similar complaint.

As a thank-you gift to Megan’s fans, 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified released Something For Thee Hotties on October 29, 2021.

With Juicy J, VickeeLo, and Dino BTW contributing skits to the compilation. It includes previously-released Megan freestyles, as well as previously unreleased archival songs.

In June of that year, the single “Thot Shit” was released. The singer’s fourth top-selling album reached number five on the US Billboard 200.
