Mark Zuckerberg visibly looks irritated after an employee inquired about paid ‘vacation’ days.

Here is ever you need to know.

Mark Zuckerberg annoyed over the staff’s vacation question

Mark Zuckerberg virtually held a company-wide Q&A meeting on 30th June where he responded to the pre-recorded questions.

However, during the session, a Chicago-based employee asked Zuckerberg whether ‘Meta Days’ i.e. extra time off that was introduced in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown would continue in 2023.

The question came after the Facebook boss talked about the impact of the global economy on the financial market. He added that it, ‘might be one of the worst downturns that we have seen in recent history.’

The Meta CEO surprisingly gave a cold response to the question reportedly asked by employee Gary.

The 38-year-old billionaire said, ‘Um … all right. Given my tone in the rest of the Q&A, you can probably imagine what my reaction to this is.’

Zuckerberg further shared that Meta would be increasing the standards for its staff. He also revealed that they will be laying off the employees who were unable to meet the new threshold.

The tech giant said, ‘Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here.’

He went on to continue, ‘Part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit is that I think some of you might decide that this place isn’t for you, and that self-selection is OK with me.’

Meta staffer react to Mark Zuckerberg’s dramatic change of tone

Following the meeting, a bunch of employees took to their internal messaging site called Workplace to discuss Mark Zuckerberg’s plans.

One staffer criticized Zuckerberg saying, ‘Did Mark just say there are a bunch of people at this company that don’t belong here[?]’

Another wrote, ‘Who hired them?’

However, some employees lauded the billionaire CEO’s shift in tone.

An employee noted, ‘This is war-time, we need a war-time CEO.’

While another chimed in responding, ‘Beast mode activated.’

The comments come shortly after Zuckerberg tumbled out of the world’s top ten richest billionaires list in March after his Meta stock took a huge drop. He currently holds the 17th position on the list.

Zuckerberg has reportedly lost a hefty sum of $64.4 billion which is more than his estimated net worth of $61.1 billion.
