After confusing gazpacho with the Nazi Gestapo, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene became a laughingstock on Wednesday.

Greene told One America News that there are many jails in DC, including the DC gulag.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Mixed Up The Words

Despite trying her best to flame House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s attempt fell flat. After confusing gazpacho – a cold tomato soup – with the Nazi secret police, she mixed up the words.

“There’s a Gazpacho police that tracks members of Congress tracks the legislative work we do, tracks our staff. Tracks American citizens who want to talk with their representatives,” Greene said in an interview.

According to the department, an officer conducted a security check. After the Capitol Police investigated Troy Nehls’s office after it had been unlocked. Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) claimed that Capitol Police had investigated his office ‘illegally.’

A number of jokes referencing Seinfeld’s “Soup Nazi” joke were sparked by the gaffe on Twitter.

What is Gazpacho?

Those who aren’t familiar with Gazpacho know it as a cold Spanish soup made with a wide variety of vegetables. The term Rep. Greene may have been searching for was “Gestapo”— an organization responsible for enforcing the Nazi regime on Germans.
