Fans of Mariah Carey in Pittsburgh were left disappointed on Wednesday when her holiday concert at PPG Paints Arena was abruptly canceled just hours before the scheduled showtime. The iconic singer, known as the “Queen of Christmas,” revealed on social media that she had contracted the flu, forcing her to cancel the performance.
Mariah’s Statement to Fans
Carey expressed her heartbreak over the cancellation in a heartfelt message on social media.
“Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much,” she wrote.

Refund Options for Ticket Holders
Fans who purchased tickets to the event need not worry about losing their money. According to the PPG Paints Arena website, all ticket holders will be issued refunds.
- Ticketmaster Purchases: If you purchased your tickets through Ticketmaster, the refund process will be automatic.
- Box Office or Third-Party Purchases: Those who bought their tickets at the PPG Paints Arena box office or through other vendors are advised to follow specific instructions provided by the seller. If you do not receive an email with refund options, you should contact the original point of purchase for assistance.

Mariah Carey’s Busy Schedule
Despite this setback, Mariah Carey has a packed schedule ahead. Her Celebration of Mimi Live residency at Dolby Live, Park MGM in Las Vegas, has been extended through February 15, 2025. After that, she will resume her “Christmas Time Tour,” which kicked off on November 6 in Highland, California, and will conclude on December 17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 20-city tour includes major stops in Los Angeles, Houston, Nashville, and Washington, D.C.
