Lovlina Borgohain Career, Lifestyle, and Everything You Need to Know

Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian boxer who was born on 2nd October 1997. She is from Golaghat, Assam. She has two elder twin sisters. Lovlina is 5ft 10 in and in the category of 69 kg. She chose her hobby as a carrier and did appreciable work on it. She started her career as a kickboxer and by continuing playing her interest shifted to boxing and making the whole country proud. She hails from a poor background but nothing stops her from achieving his dream. She is passionate about boxing since childhood. Her Coach Padum Boro started training her in 2012 at the Boxing Academy. Her success took her to the International stage, she was then trained by Shiv Singh, India’s Chief Women Coach. Her parents are very supportive throughout her journey and recently she will grab a medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Lovlina Borgohain is just 23 years old and achieved huge success in her career and won the various championships of boxing like she won the bronze medal at the 2018 and 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and She won a gold medal at 1st India Open International Boxing Tournament held in New Delhi and silver medal at 2nd India Open International Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati. She secured 3rd rank in the 69 kg Welterweight category. She has become the first woman from Assam to qualify for the Olympics. In 2020, she became the sixth person from Assam to receive the second-highest sports Arjuna Award

. After Vijendra Singh(2008) and Mary Kom (2012), she becomes the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal. Currently, in 2021 Lovlina Borgohain will write her name in history by win a medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. On Friday 30th July 2021 she beats Chinese Taipei’s Nien Chin Chen in the women’s welterweight quarter-final. And entered the semifinals and assured a medal for India at least a bronze medal by giving a fantastic performance. She once again proved that in this century girls are not left behind by boys. They have equal opportunities.
By winning back-to-back medals in various championships she is an inspiration for all, especially for girls. She is making us all proud.
