Rapper Lord Jamar recently expressed disapproval over Vice President Kamala Harris’s decision to feature Cardi B at a campaign rally in Milwaukee, sparking debate online. In an interview with The Art of Dialogue YouTube channel, Jamar discussed Cardi B’s appearance at the event, where she voiced support for reproductive rights and criticized political opponents. Jamar’s commentary focused on Cardi B’s controversial past, and he questioned Harris’s decision to have her represent the campaign.

In a video titled Lord Jamar Goes In On Cardi B’s Embarrassing Speech At Kamala’s Rally: “It Was Painful To Watch”, Jamar criticized the choice, stating, “First of all, her [Cardi B] history, of who she is, this is an ex-stripper who admitted to drugging dudes and robbing them… who has songs like ‘Wet As Pusy’ with the other one Megan The Stallion. These are the people that you [Kamala Harris] decide to bring up there to represent your campaign? Like, it’s psycho.” Jamar’s comments reflect his belief that Cardi B’s image and past actions could undermine the credibility of Harris’s political platform.

During her appearance at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, Cardi B addressed the crowd, focusing on the need for reproductive rights and women’s health protections. Cardi B voiced her concern over restrictions on women’s bodily autonomy, stating, “Protection for women, especially… maternal and mental health care is not telling them what to do with their bodies. It’s supporting them and giving them the care they need for what they choose to do with their bodies.” She further criticized former President Donald Trump’s stance on women’s rights, emphasizing her belief that real protection means safeguarding choice and progress for future generations.

Jamar also shared his controversial views on abortion, describing the right to terminate a pregnancy as “a crock of sh*t” and claiming that discussions around body autonomy are “nonsense.” He characterized pro-choice advocacy as an endorsement of “murder” and remarked, “You’re fighting for the right to kill children, period. And be murderers.” These comments have intensified reactions among social media users, especially within the hip-hop and political communities.

Cardi B’s background has also come under renewed scrutiny following her appearance at the rally. In 2019, the rapper addressed a resurfaced video in which she admitted to drugging and robbing men during her days as a stripper. In the video, Cardi B recalled, “I’d drug n**gas up and I’d rob them.” Addressing criticism, she explained on X (formerly Twitter) that her actions were driven by survival, stating, “Whether or not they were poor choices at the time, I did what I had to do to survive… I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options.”

The rapper has never shied away from her past, recently sharing on Instagram a story about her early days and how she acquired a dress from a former workplace to celebrate her birthday. “I love the fact that they don’t see me like Cardi B. They still treat me like CAMILLA,” she wrote, referencing her former stripper name.

In response to criticism, Cardi B has continued to engage with fans and opponents alike. Following her speech at Harris’s rally, she took to X, alleging that Donald Trump intends to “hustle YOU,” in a pointed remark aimed at Trump supporters.

With contrasting opinions from high-profile figures like Lord Jamar, the decision to have Cardi B speak at Harris’s rally has become a contentious topic. Many on social media are divided, with some agreeing with Jamar’s take on Cardi B’s involvement, while others appreciate her for using her platform to advocate for women’s rights. Cardi B’s rally speech, paired with Jamar’s criticisms, underscores the ongoing tension between celebrity influence and political messaging in today’s landscape.
