Lizzo Lawsuit: Ex-Dancers Speak Out Against ‘Disheartening’ Response to Harassment Claims
4 min readIn response to the sexual harassment & fat-shaming charges in a lawsuit filed by three former troupe members, Lizzo stated, “I’m not the villain.” “The last few days have been excruciatingly difficult and overwhelmingly discouraging.” My work ethic, morals, and respectability have all been called into doubt. “My character has been chastised,” she stated in a statement shared on social media. The accusers were stunned by Lizzo’s “disheartening” response to their charges during their first UK TV appearance after the allegations were made public on Tuesday (1 August). Crystal Williams told Channel 4 that the incident initially aggravated her feelings of dissatisfaction. “I was feeling particularly hurt because I was being treated this way,” she said. Lizzo allegedly forced one of her dancers, Arianna Davis, into touching a naked performer in an Amsterdam strip club, according to the lawsuit document.
Lizzo has released a statement addressing the hostile work environment lawsuit filed against her:

It is also said that the Grammy winner forced her dancers to through a humiliating 12-hour re-audition and created a hostile work atmosphere. The suit claims that Lizzo forced one of her crew members to touch a naked performer at an Amsterdam strip club and made “thinly veiled” comments regarding one dancer’s weight. Following the public disclosure of the case, numerous of the Grammy winner’s prior colleagues have claimed to have had terrible experiences while working together. Quinn Wilson, Lizzo’s former creative director, “echoed” the accusers’ sentiments in an Instagram story, while filmmaker Sophia Nahli Allison called the singer “arrogant, unkind, and cruel.”
Lizzo is being represented by Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer for her harassment and toxic workplace lawsuit.

The accusers were stunned by Lizzo’s “disheartening” response to their charges during their first UK TV appearances since the allegations were made public on Tuesday (1 August). Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, as well as Noelle Rodriguez, filed a 44-page lawsuit against the “Truth Hurts” s inger, her touring company, and her dance captain Shirlene Quigley on Tuesday (1 August). The accusers were stunned by Lizzo’s “disheartening” response to their charges during their first UK TV appearance after the allegations were made public on Tuesday (1 August).
“Initially, it just deepened the dissatisfaction in terms of how I was feeling and the way I was treated,” Crystal Williams told Channel 4 of the incident. After competing on Lizzo’s Amazon Prime Video reality show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, in 2021, she and Davis began dancing for her. “I believe the overarching theme here is that our experiences were our experiences, and our traumas were our traumas.” “By bringing that up, it appears that it was completely ignored,” Williams continued. I am disheartened by the report how it were made against us, which is far from the truth. It was disheartening to read and feel overlooked by the report, especially when she stands for what she stands for in terms of women’s empowerment – being a spokesperson for mental health, being an advocate for body positivity – and to just further demonstrate that that isn’t the case, since absolutely nothing was acknowledged in that statement.”
Lizzo responds predictably— discrediting all the accusers. No apology, smart but outrage and public sentiment might be too much to save her.
