Fans from all around the world rushed to buy merchandise of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the wake of the World Cup final on Sunday. Moreover, reports say that the demand for the two athlete’s memorabilia has seemingly increased.

TMZ Sports recently reported that the demand for Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe merchandise took off following the World Cup final.

 According to a representative of the auction house, searches for Messi seemingly increased to 354% from his average. 

The queries on Mbappe on the other hand rose to 363%.

Jesse Craig, the executive of PWCC, said, ‘Messi was searched nearly three times more than Michael Jordan, more than four times more than LeBron James, and more than five times more than Tom Brady.’

He continued, ‘Messi gilded his career with this victory, and demand for his cards clearly rose in concert with the achievement. The numbers highlight how important an exciting game is for demand in player assets.’

Furthermore, a representative of the organization claimed that its merchandise Messi was sold at, ‘an average 93 percent higher than their insurance value’ after the thrilling match on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the items of Mbappe, ‘finished an average 17 percent higher.’

Besides that, reports claim that the most notable purchase among the two athletes was a Topps Messi card from 2017 that was sold for $14,400.
