During an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Liam Payne apologized for some statements he made regarding his former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik.
During his latest appearance on the show, Payne discussed Malik and his previous troubles, including a rivalry with Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, and reports that Malik pushed Gigi Hadid’s mother during an altercation last year. Payne’s remark that there are “many reasons why I dislike Zayn” spawned a tabloid-ready title, but he did go on to say that there are “many reasons why I’ll always, always be on Zayn’s side.”
Payne’s apologies, which he issued on Twitter on Thursday, June 2, basically said the same thing: “I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff but when it’s your family it’s hard to let it slip.” “They brought up a specific event with Zayn, to which I reacted — although upon reflection, perhaps I didn’t express myself as well as I could have.” I was implying that there will always be points of contention between us, but that I will always, always support him. That’s what family is all about. Zayn is my brother, and I’ll always support him.”
Liam Payne was asked by Logan Paul on his podcast about Zayn Malik’s beef with Jake Paul and Gigi Hadid’s tweet defending Zayn, Liam responded:

In Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, what did Liam Payne say?
When Paul brought up a rivalry between him and Malik, Payne made a snide remark about the singer. Payne brought up a tweet from Malik’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, in which she slammed the Paul brothers for their remark about the singer being supposedly nasty to them during a vacation to Las Vegas in 2020.
Liam Payne mentioned the incident and added, “She said something along the lines of “find yourself a respectful man.” That one didn’t hold up well over time.”
His remark definitely alluded to Malik’s alleged incident with Hadid’s mother in 2021, during which the singer allegedly called her a “f**ing Dutch slt.” Payne went on to discuss his former One Direction bandmate’s childhood and background. He justified his statement by stating that “If I’d had to go through what he did, with his growth and everything else… My parents are extremely supportive, to the point of annoyance at times. In that regard, Zayn had a different upbringing.”

Liam Payne’s answers have sparked a backlash among fans
The band’s fans were divided by Payne’s tweets regarding his comments on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. While some praised Payne for taking the step to clarify matters, others criticized him for bringing up his former bandmate on the podcast.
Liam, you don’t have to apologize for anything, said one user; they were the ones who took everything out of context.
You made terrible jokes about him, said another user. You can’t go back in time and pretend that those things didn’t happen.

Another person replied, “Liam apologized, but what is he expected to do now?” Seriously, if you don’t believe him, leave him alone; he doesn’t need any more hatred.
Another enraged supporter stated: “This tweet is unnecessary.” It appears to be an attempt to atone for the grave you built for yourself. We’re simply reacting to what you did and said, but unless you apologize to Zayn, this is pointless.
Its like me saying my friend isn’t perfect she has her bad stuff but i will always love her thats obv what he meant i really don’t know why yall made it a big deal

am i the only one who understood what he actually meant? Why is everyone twisting his words, he clearly was being respectful to zayn from the start, you could tell that. He just worded it poorly, but even then, you could tell he has high respect for Zayn
