Cousin of Black Lives Matter Co-Founder dies after police arrest
Keenan Anderson, the cousin of Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, has tragically passed away following a cardiac arrest.
Moreover, it seemingly happened after his encounter with the police in Los Angeles, the United States Of America, last week.
In addition, the police department of LA has shared a video recording of the encounter. In the video, we can see Anderson trying to evade arrest after a traffic accident.
Furthermore, the clip shows the cops repeatedly tasing Anderson with a stun gun. Additionally, he begs for help but is pinned down by multiple policemen.
Anderson says in the video, ‘They’re trying to kill me. They’re trying to George Floyd me!’
If you didn’t know, he was referring to George Floyd’s death at the hands of a cop in May 2020.
Anderson was a 31-year-old high-school English teacher. He is survived by his five-year-old son.

Los Angeles Mayor calls the need for ‘urgent change’
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass addressed the tragic death of Keenan Anderson in an interview.
She said, ‘I have grave concerns about the deeply disturbing tapes that were released today.’
Furthermore, she continued, ‘We must reduce the use of force overall.’
She added, ‘I have absolutely no tolerance for excessive force.’
Meanwhile, the Guardian reported that Anderson was rushed to the hospital immediately after the arrival of paramedics.
However, he seemingly went into cardiac arrest four and a half hours later and was pronounced dead.
Besides that, Michel Moore, chief of LAPD, claims that Anderson’s behavior was ‘erratic’ and he supposedly went through a ‘medical emergency.’
He went on to confirm that cops indeed tased Anderson ten times. However, it was reportedly not ‘effective’ every time.
Additionally, he mentioned, ‘It’s unclear what role the physical struggle with the officers and the use of the Taser played in his unfortunate death.’
Meanwhile, Anderson’s cousin Patrisse Cullors questioned the need for cops to show up armed for a traffic collision incident.
She noted, ‘It was a traffic accident. Instead of treating him like a potential criminal, the police should have called the ambulance.’
Cullors continued, ‘If there was a policy in which traffic stops were met with unarmed professionals who come to the scene to help with whatever situation has happened, that would have prevented my cousin’s death.’

How long do you tase a man before enough is enough. You wouldn't tase an animal that long..

I confused. How is this not this person fault. Maybe I am missing something. Cop said don’t resist like 10 times. Just listen to the commands this no where near the Floyd encounter.

This is super sad!!!! I hope these officers are charged with murder! They could have cuffed him without tasing him! And why did he need to be cuffed when he called for help??!! So heartbreaking 😢💔

I watched this with the sound off and only read the closed caption. It seems like he was a good student, that he had been coached on how to make a scene. He agreed with the officer instructions while simultaneously moving to an area for a more dramatic take down.
