Lady Gaga recently performed at the Chromatica Ball Concert in Washington D.C. on Monday night.
The singer fired up the audience by sharing that the upcoming shows in her summer tour will be dedicated to women’s reproductive rights.
According to a Twitter clip circulating on social media, Gaga made the revelation while performing her 2011 hitmaker The Edge of Glory.
She said, ‘I would like to dedicate this song to every woman in America. To every woman who now has to worry about her body if she gets pregnant. I pray that this country will speak up, that we will stick together, and that we will not stop until it’s right! For every woman.’
The 36-year-old pop star then mentioned, ‘I pray that this country will speak up and we will stick together and that we will not stop until it’s right.’
If you didn’t know, Gaga was referring to the controversial overturning of the Roe v. Wade case. On 24th June, the Supreme Court ruled out the landmark decision.
In simple terms, each US state now has the right to set its law over the legality of abortions. However, since then 25 US states have barred citizens from access to safe abortion.

Gaga continued while talking to the roaring crowd, ‘What about all the women who are raped? What about all the women that are dying giving childbirth?’
Regardless, the A Star Is Born actress concluded the song by apologizing for being a downer but felt it was necessary to address the issue.
Further, into the concert, Gaga went on to sing her iconic hit Born This Way. She dedicated the song to the LGBTQ+ community.
According to Variety, Gaga opened the song by saying, ‘This might not be the national anthem, but it’s our national anthem! They better not try to mess with gay marriage in this country!’
