Kylie Jenner Faces Backlash for Deleting Controversial Instagram Post Supporting Israel

On her Instagram story, Kylie Jenner expressed her support for Israel. She later erased it, though, and is now facing backlash on social media. On her Instagram story, the 26-year-old shared a photo from the account @standwithus. However, for unclear reasons, she removed it. Jenner’s backing of Israel comes on the heels of Hamas surprise strike’ on Israel. Jenner’s support for Israel came on the same day that Hamas launched a ‘surprise strike’ on the Jewish state. The fighting has claimed the lives of over 200 individuals, including an IDF officer. US President Joe Biden & Secretary of State Anthony Blinken both expressed their support for Tel Aviv. Kylie Jenner was trolled after she deleted her story. “I retract everything nice I said about Kylie Jenner,” an X (previously Twitter) user wrote.

“I’ve not been more dissatisfied & horrified by Kylie Jenner in my whole life…” he went on to say. “Kylie Jenner must be one of the stupidest celebrities I’ve ever seen,” commented a third commenter on X. Meanwhile, UNICEF, the United Nations’ child advocate organisation, has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. Catherine Russell, executive director of UNICEF, stated that children in the region have a right to grow up in peace. UNICEF calls for an immediate end to hostilities, along with all parties safeguarding children from harm and providing them with the special protection they are entitled to, as is their responsibility under international humanitarian law,” the statement stated.

Kylie Jenner Expresses Support For Israel Amid Hamas Attack, Then Removes Instagram Story Minutes Later
Following Hamas strikes on Israel, Kylie Jenner uploaded an Instagram story on Saturday with a photograph of the Israeli flag and the caption, “Now & always, we stand with the people of Israel!”After receiving largely negative comments via social media, she deleted the post. Screenshots uploaded by users on X show an image reshared from the charitable organisation StandWithUs that looks to be from Jenner’s story. According to the organisation, it supports Israel & rejects antisemitism. A video that looked to be of comments on Jenner’s post showed several viewers responding in favour of a free Palestine. While her Instagram Story is no longer active, people are discussing her Israel post on her latest Instagram grid post, which was shared recently. In a remark, a person wrote, “Dont become involved in politics & say that u support i**ael. P@lestine has been suffering for ages.” Many others shared Palestinian flags, and some urged Jenner’s 400 million followers to stop following her.

Jenner’s support for Israel came on the same day that Hamas launched a surprise strike on Israel. The conflict has claimed the lives of over 200 individuals, including an IDF officer. Catherine Russell, executive director of UNICEF, stated that children in the region deserve the right to develop and grow up in peace. UNICEF is calling on all parties to end hostilities immediately, and to take measures to ensure children are protected from harm & given the special protections they are entitled to, in accordance with international humanitarian law,” stated the statement. “I am extremely concerned about the wellbeing of children in Israel and in the State of Palestine,” he said. Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has stated that his soldiers will retaliate against Hamas.
