Kodak Black was allegedly taken into custody in Florida over carrying a bunch of oxycodone pills.

Kodak Black charged with possession of oxycodone pills

On Friday, Kodak Black was driving around Fort Lauderdale in his Dodge Durango when he was stopped by the cops at a Florida traffic stop.

The Florida Highway Patrol claimed that their officers conducted a traffic stop at nearly 4.30 pm on 15th July Friday.

According to TMZ, police asked the rapper to pull over since they suspected that the windows of his truck were tinted darker than the permitted limit. 

Furthermore, the Florida troopers started smelling marijuana as soon as they approached his vehicle.

Shortly after the authorities performed a search of the car and recovered 31 oxycodone pills with $74,960 cash.

Moreover, the officials later learned that the registration of Black’s vehicle and his driver’s license had expired.

The outlet added that the Codeine Dreaming artist was subsequently hauled off to the Broward County jail on unspecified charges.

Kodak Black’s past run-ins with the law

Kodak Black who was born Dieuson Octave but later changed his legal name to Bill Kahan Kapri, was charged with auto theft when he was a middle school student.

Additionally, the 25-year-old singer had been taken in and out of jail over different felonies several times throughout his young career.

In 2019, The Pompano Beach rapper was arrested over possession of weapons and sentenced to four years in prison. Regardless, his sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump after Black served nearly half the term.

He was also pardoned by Trump last year when he was arrested for trespassing on New Year’s Day.

Black consequently avoided spending more time behind the bars in 2021 and taking a plea deal after he was charged with raping a teenager in 2016.

The Atlantic Records recording artist was scheduled to perform E11EVEN at Rolling Loud Weekend in Miami on 22nd July.

Black dropped his fourth studio album, Back for Everything, on 25th February this year. The record included hit singles such as Let Me Know and Grinding All Season.

The musician’s all-time hit tracks consist of No Flockin’, Super Gremlin, Roll in Peace and Pimpin Ain’t Eazy.

Black released his debut studio album titled  Painting Pictures in 2017. The album reached number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, which more or less rose him to prominence.
