Kim Kardashian Joins Forces with Emma Roberts and Marlene King for Netflix Series ‘Calabasas’
Netflix has secured the upcoming series “Calabasas,” with a star-studded team of executive producers including Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, and Marlene King, the creator of “Pretty Little Liars.” The series, based on the book “If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous by Now” by Via Bleidner, is set to bring a fresh narrative to the streaming platform.
“Calabasas” follows the story of a sheltered 16-year-old Catholic schoolgirl who finds herself in uncharted territory when she transfers to Calabasas High. Marlene King will lead the project as the writer and showrunner, bringing her wealth of experience in creating compelling teen dramas to the table.

Kim Kardashian, a resident of Calabasas herself and a familiar face in the entertainment industry, joins the project as an executive producer, alongside King and her partner Lauren Wagner through Long Lake Media. This collaboration marks a reunion for Kardashian and Roberts, who previously worked together on “American Horror Story: Delicate.”
The series is set to delve into the complexities of teenage life against the backdrop of Calabasas, a city that has been featured prominently in reality television, including “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and “The Kardashians.” This familiarity with the locale adds an extra layer of authenticity to the storytelling.
In addition to “Calabasas,” Netflix has also acquired the Kardashian-led comedy “The Fifth Wheel,” further solidifying its partnership with the renowned media personality.
Marlene King’s involvement in the project brings a wealth of expertise, having developed and executive produced popular series like “Pretty Little Liars,” “Ravenswood,” and “PLL: The Perfectionists.” Her creative vision and storytelling prowess are expected to elevate “Calabasas” to new heights.
Joining the team as executive producers are Emma Roberts, Karah Preiss, and Matt Matruski for Belletrist Productions, along with Alexandra Milchan under her Crescentline banner.
