Khloe Kardashian is being accused of blackfishing following dressing up for Halloween, with some believing her skin tone is noticeably darker than usual. For Halloween, the reality star & her sister Kim Kardashian dressed up as Bratz dolls. The siblings were accompanied by two pals, both of whom wore plaid miniskirts as well as matching tops. To complete the metamorphosis, they all accessorised with similar berets and purses. When the Good American co-founder uploaded photographs of her Halloween costume on Instagram, admirers disregarded the costumes, instead concentrating on her skin tone.

Khloe Kardashian was called out in the remarks section for “blackfishing.” The word refers to white or other non-black people who darken their skin to resemble black by tanning, makeup, digital manipulation, or other means. While others wondered, “Is that blackface?” others were sure: “This is undoubtedly blackface & I don’t like it.” Another person commented, “Black fishing periodddd.” Some defended her, with one saying that her reportedly changed complexion is “literally a costume.” Kylie Jenner, Khloé’s younger sister, was previously chastised for “blackfishing” after releasing her limited-edition Bratz doll collection in August.

Khloe Kardashian Was Bashed for ‘Blackfishing’ With Her Bratz Doll Halloween Outfit

Khloe Kardashian is being accused of “blackfishing” by fans after dressing up as a Bratz doll for Halloween. The “Kardashians” star appeared in a yellow patterned little dress with a long-sleeved white top underneath in photographs posted to Instagram on Tuesday. She wore a similar yellow hat over her platinum blonde hair and carried a handbag with the Bratz emblem written in crystals. The Good American co-founder’s clothing, however, did not pique the interest of her admirers. Users quickly flocked to the comments section to criticise Kardashian’s skin tone, which one user described as “10 times darker” than usual. Another stated that the reality star wishes to “be black sooooooo bad,” while a third question, “Why is she three shades darker than typical?” Several people criticised Kardashian, 39, for “blackfishing” – a term used to describe white public figures, prominent people, or influencers who use makeup, excessive tanning, or other methods to appear black or mixed-race. “Black fishing periodddd,” remarked one fan of the mother of two. “Black fishing heaux,” said a second. “Girl what on earth is this, you’re not even recognisable.”

While the costume was part of an ensemble look that featured Khloé’s sister Kim Kardashian as well as friends Olivia Pierson & Natalie Halcro, she appeared to be the only one receiving criticism for her outfit. The Skims founder, 43, released an Instagram picture in which all four ladies were dressed as the famed Bratz dolls in various ensembles. “I don’t recognise Khloe,” said one user in response to Kim’s carousel post. Some defended her, with one saying that her reportedly changed complexion is “literally a costume.” Kylie Jenner, Khloé’s younger sister, was previously chastised for “blackfishing” after releasing her limited-edition Bratz doll collection in August. At the time, one Twitter user wrote, “The fact that all of the Kylie Bratz dolls are brown is weird asf.” That girl is as white as a ghost.” Having Kylie (a white woman whose face/body is based on Black women’s) possess her own Bratz doll (which is undoubtedly a more urban/Black-oriented doll) before having an ACTUAL Black woman is… weird,” another person commented. The BRATZ collection Kylie Jenner is receiving is not even based on her actual features, adding, “Kylie Jenner is a sicko lmaooo sis scrapped off the very top of the whole Black girl aesthetic.”
