Kevin Costner’s estranged wife has requested $248K in child support per month (AUD $369K). A hefty payment is being demanded by the Dancing with Wolves actor’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, according to documents obtained by People. As part of the court filing, Baumgartner’s attorney requested financial support for the three children she shares with Costner. The amount is deemed less than necessary to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyles, according to documents. Also, the former handbag designer asked Costner to cover 100% of the children’s tuition, extracurricular activities, and healthcare costs.

Additionally, Costner’s 2022 income was listed at $195.1 million (AUD $290.8 million), while their family expenses were listed at $6.6 million (AUD $9.9 million). Despite expenses and taxes, the family earned $7.5 million (AUD $11.3 million), which allowed them to take regular trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen, as well as hire caterers and chefs for parties. The filing was submitted at the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Barbara, earlier today (June 23). According to news.com.au, Baumgartner’s lawyers claim that the actor would not leave their $216 million (AUD $322 million) beachside complex in Carpinteria, California unless he satisfies her “financial demands.”

In Order To Maintain Their ‘Accustomed Lifestyle,’ Kevin Costner’s Wife Demands Nearly $250,000 In Child Support

The American actor Kevin Costner is being sued by his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, for excessive child support payments, as reported by Page Six. According to court records acquired by People on Wednesday, the designer, 49, wants the ‘Yellowstone’ star, 68, to pay her $248,000 per month in order to raise their three children: Cayden Wyatt, 16, Hayes Logan, 14, and Grace Avery, 13. According to Baumgartner, the total sum requested is “less than what’s needed for maintaining the children in their accustomed lifestyle.” According to Page Six, she also wants Costner to fund all of their children’s medical expenses, extracurricular activities, sports, and private school tuition. As a consequence of her application on Friday, the most recent salary information for Baumgartner’s estranged husband became public. It is estimated that Costner earned more than $19 million in 2022, while his family spent $6,645,285 on vacations to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen, as well as catering services. His alleged net income after taxes was $7,595,520.

In court records acquired by Page Six previously, the actor stated that he did not want his financial details made public out of fear that fraudsters, burglars and ‘unwanted and embarrassing global media attention’ would cause him ‘irreparable damage’. Baumgartner allegedly spent $95,000 of Kevin Costner’s money on attorneys and forensic accountants during the legal process “without prior notice” to him. Despite the couple’s prenuptial agreement, he allegedly chastised the mother of three for refusing to leave their $145 million home in Carpinteria, California. Baumgartner would have 30 days to vacate the property if the couple divorced, and she would be awarded a $1.2 million home to live in, according to Page Six. The handbag designer, on the other hand, reportedly argued that Costner lacked “legal justification” to evict her and used the children as leverage, alleging through her attorney that the mansion is where “the children have lived for their entire lives.”The one area where the ex-spouses appear to have struck an amiable agreement is child custody, and Baumgartner has requested “joint” custody. Furthermore Christine Baumgartner is also not seeking spousal support.
