Kelly Osbourne did not hold back her feelings towards her former ‘Fashion Police’ cohost Giuliana Rancic during a candid discussion on the May 21 episode of “The Osbournes Podcast.” Reflecting on her time on the show, Kelly Osbourne, 39, made it clear that she has no intention of acknowledging Rancic, 49.

“We don’t need to give her any f—king anything,” Kelly responded when her mother, Sharon Osbourne, mentioned Rancic. The tension stems from a 2015 incident where Rancic made a controversial comment about Zendaya’s hair, a remark that many initially misattributed to Kelly.

On the podcast, Kelly’s brother Jack Osbourne clarified the situation, recounting how Kelly was wrongfully blamed for Rancic’s comment about Zendaya’s appearance at the Oscars. Rancic had said Zendaya looked like “she smells like patchouli oil and weed,” a statement widely criticized for its racial insensitivity. “Good for her,” Kelly said in response to Jack mentioning Zendaya’s disapproval of Rancic.

Reflecting on the fallout, Kelly expressed frustration over the lasting impact of the incident. “I wouldn’t know, because as far as I’m concerned, she doesn’t exist,” she said, emphasizing her desire to distance herself from Rancic. At the time of the controversy, Rancic issued an apology, calling her comments “outrageously offensive.” Despite the apology, the incident led to Kelly’s departure from ‘Fashion Police’ in February 2015. The show itself was eventually canceled in November 2017.

Zendaya, who was 18 at the time, addressed Rancic’s comments on Instagram, highlighting the broader societal issues regarding African-American hair. “There is already a harsh criticism of African-American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair,” she wrote. In an interview with W Magazine, Zendaya emphasized the importance of standing up against such ignorance and using her platform to drive change.

Despite the negative experiences with Rancic, Kelly looked back fondly on her time with the late Joan Rivers, who she credited as a significant influence and maternal figure. “She always had my back. She was such a cheerleader for me and made me believe in myself in a way that I never ever did until she came into my life,” Kelly reminisced. Rivers’ death in September 2014 marked a significant loss for Kelly, both personally and professionally.

Kelly Osbourne also expressed regret over how the controversy affected Melissa Rivers, Joan’s daughter, who joined ‘Fashion Police’ in 2015. “It’s one of my biggest regrets in all of it, to be honest with you, was how Melissa got hurt in all of it, because she had just lost her mom,” Kelly said. She expressed a deep sense of indebtedness to Melissa, acknowledging the additional pain the situation caused her.

Kelly’s reflections on ‘Fashion Police’ reveal a mixture of fond memories and regrets, shaped by the profound impact of Joan Rivers and the unfortunate fallout with Giuliana Rancic.
