Kat Von D, Tattoo Artist Closing Her Famous Tattoo Shop “High Voltage Tattoo”
2 min readThe American Tattoo artist and singer Katherine Von Drachenberg is popularly known as Kat Von D has decided to permanently move to Indiana. This means she will be closing her tattoo parlor in California.
The closing of “High Voltage Tattoo”-
The tattoo shop was in business for almost 14 years and it is now going to be shut. Kat decided to be a tattoo artist at the age of 16 and left her school for the same reasons. She was also seen in two seasons of the reality show Miami Ink on TLC. Later she was seen in her own show on TLC LA Ink which documented her work in her tattoo shop. LA Ink ran until four seasons and then it was canceled because Kat decided to discontinue for some reason.
Earlier Kat herself used to tattoo her customers. Later, when she got busy with other projects of hers she hired stepped back. She released her book named, ”High Voltage Tattoo” which received a great response. She also launched her own line with the beauty brand Sephora.
In her post, she also expressed her gratitude towards the people who supported her and said, “I want to thank my beloved tattoo family for having the honor and privilege of working together”. She added, “And a very special THANK YOU to all of you wonderfully supportive people who have been through @highvoltagetat over the years!”
Kat Von D Moving to Indiana-
Kat, married artist Rafael Reyes in 2018 and has a son Leafar (2) with him. She took to Instagram to inform her fans about her decision to move to Indiana. Due to her decision of shifting to Indiana, she will have to close the tattoo shop in California. She also said that after the renovation of her new home she will be opening a new tattoo shop in Indiana. The exorcism singer will only be traveling back to LA to complete projects with her music brand and she won’t be selling her old home.
What lead Kat Von D to this decision?
She also talked about her decision to move and said, “With all that has been taking place in California with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town. Where there is nature, where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day,”
While the PR team of Kat Von D and High Voltage Tattoo has not made an official comment regarding this.
