Kanye West’s shocking appearance at BET Awards 2022 to honor friend Diddy

Kanye West made a rare appearance at the BET Awards 2022 on Sunday. About three hours into the night, the rapper surprised the crowd when he honored fellow rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kanye West, also known as Ye, surprised everyone when he took the stage on Sunday night to present an award to Diddy alongside Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds.
West started, ‘How do we crown our kings? How do we appreciate our kings? To think how far we could just make it off of inspiration.’
He added, ‘This is my favorite artist. You see what I’m saying? Favorite artist. Everything.’
The 45-year-old entrepreneur then went on to crack some jokes at the expense of his former wife Kim Kardashian.
He said, ‘I go to him for advice to this day. He inspires so many of my choices, so many of my life choices. My wife choices. And here we are. Thanks for that, Puff.’
The Donda singer’s rest of the seemingly unscripted speech surprisingly remained uncontroversial.
He spoke about how Diddy influenced his music career.

West revealed, ‘You know, I took a little hiatus. I said, I just want to declare myself legally dead for a year. I just want to be off the grid and Puff is pretty persistent, but I had to think, bro, it’s like, people get amnesia.’
The hip-hop star then mentioned, ‘Puff, if I never told you I love you, you’re my brother.’
Furthermore, the Chicago singer’s ensemble puzzled everyone. He sported a gray Hood By Air jacket and a Black mask with shades that nearly covered his whole face.
Ye’s attire for the night immediately became the butt of jokes with some Twitter users comparing him with comic-book villains.
Among the many tweets, one fan said, ‘Kanye is about to suffocate on this stage.’

The BET Awards goers were left enthused and startled when Kanye West walked onto the stage to honor Diddy’s career.
It was Ye’s first televised appearance since the Grammy Awards banned him from performing at the ceremony in April over his ‘concerning online behavior.’
