A move to expand Kanye West’s business ventures in Russia is planned. In an article by Billboard, West said that he hopes to meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow later this year.

His first-ever visit to Russia will also include a performance at a church service as his first-ever performance. As part of the trip, he will meet Russian tycoon Aras Agalarov and his son, Emin, along with their respective businesses. The trip is being organized and planned by Ameer Sudan and attorney Scott Balber, Ye’s advisor and confidant.

The law firm’s US head of investigations and financial services litigation, Balber is the managing partner of Herbert Smith Freehills’ New York office.

Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire developer Agalarov is active in real estate. The business practices of Trump and Putin are similar, so he has been dubbed ‘the Trump of Russia.’

As the founder of Crocus Group, one of Russia’s leading developers, he has also influenced many of its leaders. Aglarov is assisted in the management of his empire by Emin, who is a well-known pop singer.

Ying and Emin are also pursuing a musical collaboration to boost Emin’s career in the US. Emin has been active in the Russian music industry since 2005 and was trained by popular Russian artist Muslim Magomayev, known as the Soviet Sinatra.

Currently, however, the conflict between the US and Russia centers on Russia. Russia currently has a level 4 “do not travel” warnings from the Department of State, resulting in travel restrictions as a result.

There was an intense online discussion of Ye’s plans in Russia as expected. Social media users had mixed reactions to the news.

The timing of West’s move to Russia and how he plans to expand his business in that country are not yet known. A meeting between Putin and West has yet to be confirmed by the Russian government as well.
