Juice WRLD’s Team is Planning to Replace the Destroyed Mural
3 min readDistraught fans of Juice WRLD can take comfort in knowing that a new mural to honor him is already in the works. It comes after the original one was abruptly destroyed in Chicago.
Here is everything you need to know.
Juice WRLD’s team might replace the mural with a statue or living art
Peter Jideonwo, manager to the late Juice WRLD shared that he and the rapper’s family are still not sure who painted over the mural during an interview with TMZ.
Moreover, numerous fans flew to Chicago to catch a glimpse of the original one following its launch in 2020.
For the unversed, the mural was a tribute to the Lucid Dreams rapper after he tragically passed away due to a drug overdose in 2019.
In loving memory of the Juice WRLD mural in Downtown Chicago, they’d better fix it. Better yet put a rope around it with a sign that says it’s for Juice WRLD fans only, no vandals allowed. pic.twitter.com/XyitIp4u67

In addition, the 999 Squad reportedly had to pay $50 thousand to enlist artist Corey Pane.
Besides that, as of now, no one has come forward to take the responsibility of clearing the mural.
The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation on the other hand has done a paint test to prove that it had nothing to do with it.
Meanwhile, Jideonwo said that while the planning is still in the early stages, they are trying to come up with a design that is better than the original piece.
Subsequently, they are also trying to install a mural that will not only withstand vandals but also accidents.

Juice WRLD’s mother reacts to mural destruction
Juice WRLD’s mother Carmela Wallace talked about the mural destruction which was set up to honor her late son during an interview.
If you didn’t know, she is also Homewood Brewing Company’s (HBC) co-owner which is under construction on Dixie Highway.
She said, ‘Street art is often misunderstood or worse, disrespected. The loss of these murals — or any art for that matter — is tragic.’
She continued, ‘A founding principle of HBC is to bring joy, and supporting creativity is a way to do that. In the development of HBC, we envision a prominent place for creativity through our experiences, food, products, and the environment we are building.’
Wallace went on to add, ‘We are in conversation with the Juice WRLD mural artist Corey Pane to create a lasting tribute on the exterior of HBC. Our intention is to celebrate Jarad’s creativity with this accessible, long-lasting location.’
Additionally, she pointed out, ‘While this cannot replace the mural we lost and all the memories people have with it, we do hope this new work will find a place in people’s hearts.’
