The deaths of Dustin Carr and Haley Smith were found in the back of the store on February 13 when a Papa John’s employee arrived for work in the morning. An ex-coworker named Jose Benitez Tilley killed the engaged pair, who had been working Saturday night into the wee hours at the pizza parlor.

Judge Michael Christofeno of the Circuit Court interrogated Jose Benitez Tilley, who subsequently acknowledged shooting the pair to death in February. Before fleeing the scene, he reportedly acknowledged robbing the deceased of his money and jewels. The judge dropped a second charge of mistreating a corpse.
