The great politician began his career in 1976 as a member of the state’s general assembly. Initially, Isakson bid to be the governor in 1990 but failed to win. Eventually, he was chosen and elected in 1992 for the state Senate. Later, he tried for the US Senate in 1996. However, he got into Georgia’s board of education as a chairperson. On the contrary, he won a seat in the US House and served in the chamber from 1999 to 2004.
However, he finally made it to the Senate in 2004, and ever since then, he served the State Senate until he took retirement in 2019, two years before his tenure came to an end. Isakson had been suffering from Parkinson’s disorder since 2015. In 2016, Johnny underwent surgery for a spinal problem as well. Finally, when in 2019 he fell in his apartment in Washington, he fractured 4 rib bones. After the incident, he decided to take a leave and resigned from his post.
