Even after six-week-long defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the celebrities continue to trend on social media.

Most recently, fans are wondering whether the 59-year-old actor will return for his iconic role in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Here is everything you need to know.

Johnny Depp’s rep comments on Disney’s recent offer

Johnny Depp’s rep recently talked about the offer the actor received from Disney.

The studio is offering Depp a whopping $301 million for him to reprise the role of the Captain Jack Sparrow.

It was also reported that Disney issued an apology letter to Depp after they hastily axed him from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in 2018.

Regardless it seems like the tables have turned in favor of the actor following his victory in the high-profile libel suit.

However, despite Disney’s interest in patching up things with the Edward Scissorhands star, he no longer appears interested in the offer.

Depp’s representative denied the actor is in talks with Disney and their multi-million dollar offer on NBC News.

He said, ‘This is made up.’

Johnny Depp’s previous statements about returning to Pirates of the Caribbean

Johnny Depp once stated that he would pass on Disney if they tried to convince him to go back to work for them.

During that time, he said to Amber Heard’s lawyer, ‘nothing on this earth’ and ‘not even $300 million and a million alpacas’ could get him to go back to join hands with the studio.

Furthermore, during another proceeding Heard’s defense lawyer, Ben Rottenborn asked Depp whether he would return to Disney.

He questioned, ‘If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film?’

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star testified on the stand, ‘That is true.’

Depp has previously mentioned that he felt “betrayed” by Disney after they removed him.

The actor said, ‘Having added much of myself, much of my own rewriting, the dialogue, the scenes and the jokes. I didn’t quite understand how after that long relationship and quite a successful relationship with Disney that… suddenly I was guilty until proven innocent.’

Nevertheless, he will be featured in the animated web series Puffins Impossible as Johnny Puffin.
