Johnny Depp returns to court on charges of assaulting film crew member

With Johnny Depp’s high-profile defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard just concluded in his favour, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is now preparing for a courtroom battle with someone accusing him of assault.
Depp, 58, won his $50 million lawsuits against Heard, 36, over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post. In 2019 in which she admitted to being a victim of domestic violence. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages. And $5 million in punitive penalties by the jury, which mainly sided with him. Because punitive damages are limited in Virginia, the judge reduced the damages to $350,000.

Gregg “Rocky” Brooks, who worked as a location supervisor on Depp’s film City of Lies, about the killing of rapper The Notorious B.I.G., claims Depp punched him in the chest during a disagreement on the Los Angeles set in April 2017.
“While we accept the jury’s ruling, it has no significance to Mr. Brooks’ case in Los Angeles,” Brooks’ lawyer Pat Harris told The Sun in response to Depp’s trial victory against Heard.
