The 2013 comedy-drama film Instructions Not Included was broadcast on select TV stations on Father’s Day, and viewers were quick to notice a Johnny Depp role in one of the sequences. However, Depp’s character was done by his impersonator Danny Lopez, and he did not appear in the film as himself. In the film, the protagonist Valentin Bravo runs across Depp at one of his Hollywood businesses. During the filming of Aztec Man, the latter was seen costumed in a Captain Jack Sparrow-like way.

Several individuals believed that Johnny Depp played a cameo role in Instructions Not Included at the time of its publication. However, it was later revealed that his imposter played the part. Danny Lopez is a professional mimic who is well recognized for his Johnny Depp impression. Lopez began his imitation career at the age of 19 with the Las Vegas cast of Legends in Concert in 1983, according to Harmony Artists Inc.

He ultimately gained notoriety for his striking likeness to Depp, and he immediately accepted mimicry as a professional option. Lopez’s acting and imitation skills were lauded by Depp’s close friend Christopher Lee, who described him as “an actress with remarkable range.” Lopez is capable of reproducing numerous shades of Depp through his classic cinematic characters, including Captain Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, and Edward Scissorhands, among others, in addition to mimicking him.

Lopez admitted in an old interview that mimicking Johnny Depp was difficult: “I’ve always been told that I look like Depp.” Impersonating him and recreating some of his most famous movie personalities for his millions of admirers is a fantastic task. Lopez performed impersonations of Depp at corporate, private, and public events in addition to his formal appearances.
