Jelani Day, a 25-year-old Illinois State University Student went missing on the 25th of August. Now, a body matches with DNA. Now, Jelani’s mother asking for the investigation of her son’s death.
After Jelani went missing, a body was found floating in the Illinois River, and later found out it is Jelani Day. So far, the cause of the death has not yet been identified.
In a report, Jelani’s mother, asking for more sources and says the case “is not closed” unless they find what occurred to her son. Jelani’s family reported his missing in late August.

Jelani Day, a 25-year-old first-semester graduate from Illinois State University. He was studying Master’s at ISU in Speech Pathology and aimed for becoming a doctor one day. His last occurrences are in University and in a store at Bloomington.
When he went missing on August 25, his family reported to the police. The police asked for the clue to provide them for their investigations. Unfortunately, in early September a body was floating in the Illinois River, near Peru. On September 23rd, Thursday, they confirmed it is Jelani with the forensic dental recce and DNA tests.

Whereas she says, Jelani doesn’t even think of running away. She firmly believes someone might have hurt him. She thinks Jelani doesn’t have any pressures that make him pass away from life; leading to the involvement of something or someone in this.
Subsequently, She asks for public prayers and says, the investigation is not over until “finding the justice”. She definitely wants to know what happened to her son until then, nothing stops her!

What did the official say?
Officials say, On August 23rd, Jelani’s family speaking to him, and his last seen on the Illinois State University campus on August 24th. On August 26th, his car was there in Peru, Illinois.
Based on the noting of Peru Police, they conducted their searches based on the Day’s car. But they couldn’t find him. On the previous morning, Day was on a videotape on a surveillance camera going to a dispensary in Bloomington. This is two days before finding his body.
On September 4th, on the way to another search, they found a male body floating near the South Bank of the Illinois River. This Danville native visited the family just before two days of missing. The t-shirt he dons on the videotape. That same T-shirt was there in his white Chrysler 300.
After confirming it is him, the family is completely heartbroken and demanding more sources, answers especially after seeing the results of the withdrawal of Gabby Petito.
