The basketball players from Kanye West’s Donda Academy have received moral support from three NBA players namely, Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, and Blake Griffin.

Morehouse College dismisses Donda Academy
Jaylen Brown gave Donda Academy’s players a pep talk through a Zoom meeting on Sunday. He was joined alongside his Boston Celtics teammate Blake Griffin as well as Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving.
The NBA trio meeting comes after Morehouse College reportedly dropped Kanye West’s school from its schedule.
Moreover, the college explained in a statement that they ‘cannot condone’ West’s ‘recent divisive and unproductive statements.’

Brown on the other hand described the incident as, ‘an unfortunate retraction.’
The students of Donda Academy were originally slated to go against Atlanta’s The Skill Factory at Morehouse on 6th November.
However, the All-Star said that the team is ‘currently looking for another solution.’
Meanwhile, Senior guard AJ Johnson mentioned, ‘[The NBA players] were just telling us that they were going to have our back, and they were going to help us through the process.’
He added, ‘At the end of the day, with the Donda Dove on our chest, we’re basically playing for Kanye. It’s his school. So having our names tied to him could lead to some things: NILs wouldn’t want to do any deals with us or people wouldn’t want to sign us, or anything like that.’

Jaylen Brown cuts ties with Kanye West’s Donda agency
Last week, news broke that Jaylen Brown has quit Kanye West’s Donda Sports agency.
Regardless, he still has lingering concerns for the students as he believes that they should not suffer due to Kanye West’s antics.
Additionally, he took to Twitter after rumors went around claiming that Donda Academy is shutting down for another year.
He wrote, ‘To any HS basketball coaches & event coordinators, These student-athletes can’t be negatively impacted by this.’
Furthermore, he continued, ‘I will sponsor any event existing or new, willing to host Donda Academy. We all must ensure they complete their senior year both academically & athletically.’
Brown went on to claim, ‘Contact me. We do not cancel our kids.’

Meanwhile, Brown has previously expressed his concern over the players’ future being affected due to the 45-year-old rapper’s antisemitic remarks.
He said, ‘They don’t deserve to abruptly have their season end or abruptly have their school year cut or diminished because of the actions of others. The only thing they’re guilty of is trying to get a unique opportunity to get ahead in life.’
