Jayda Cheaves, the entrepreneur and social media influencer, recently addressed the wave of criticism and unwarranted speculation surrounding her 5-year-old son, Loyal Armani Jones. Loyal, whom she shares with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby (real name Dominique Jones), has been the subject of inappropriate comments online, with some social media users questioning his sexuality. Cheaves decided to break her silence on the matter during a recent episode of the ‘Act Normal Podcast,’ which she co-hosts with rapper Dess Dior.

The discussion arose while the duo was talking about the backlash Jayda Cheaves received following the release of a new campaign for her clothing brand, Waydamin. While reflecting on the criticism, Cheaves made it clear that she was unfazed by the negative remarks circulating online. “Honestly, the riff-raff on the internet didn’t move me only because I knew my intentions,” she stated, emphasizing her confidence in the purity of her motives.

Jayda Cheaves went on to explain that she draws strength from the understanding that people’s perceptions don’t define her reality. “I’m reading this book, and it says that when your intentions are pure and your intentions are good, there’s no need to clear anything up. Because I would be clearing myself on the internet for people who already think what they think. I can’t change their opinions about the video that I posted. Their perception is not my reality,” she added.

The campaign video in question drew inspiration from classic films, including a movie from the 1970s and ‘The Parent Trap.’ However, instead of appreciating the creative concept, some online users twisted the narrative, making baseless accusations that included claims of promoting inappropriate behavior. Cheaves expressed her frustration over these distortions, particularly the comments about her son’s sexuality. “They talk about my son’s sexuality. They talk about the videos, saying I was promoting molestation,” she said, visibly disturbed by the accusations.

Dess Dior chimed in, calling out those who make such accusations as the “real creeps.” Cheaves agreed, adding, “To be able to look at that and just instantly think that way … a 5-year-old? It’s scary.” She emphasized the importance of praying for people who harbor such harmful thoughts, hoping they find the wisdom to understand the boundaries that should not be crossed, especially when it comes to children.

Despite the negativity, Cheaves made it clear that she remains unshaken, standing firm in her knowledge of who her son is. “I just got to pray for those types of people,” she continued. “There are certain limits you just don’t cross or certain things you just don’t say. But, I said I can’t control people’s perception or I can’t make people say, ‘Oh, Loyal isn’t this.’ I can’t do that. F**k it. We ball.”

Dess Dior praised Cheaves for not letting the hurtful comments get to her, noting that she has remained strong throughout the ordeal. Cheaves concluded by asserting her confidence in her family’s understanding of Loyal, saying, “Hell nah! I know who my child is. His dad knows who he is. Our family knows. No one’s questioning, worried, or bothered.”

In the face of social media scrutiny, Jayda Cheaves’ unwavering support and love for her son Loyal serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting and standing by family, regardless of public opinion.
