At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Jane Fonda threw an award at Justine Triet. The director of “Anatomy of the Fall”, who won the Palme d’Or Saturday, accidentally forgot the scroll at the podium. Fonda attempted to flag her down. Triet didn’t answer Fonda’s calls, so Fonda threw the certificate behind the winner’s back when she couldn’t get through to her. Triet didn’t seem to notice as the scroll thudded to the ground behind her despite being struck by it in the back of the head. A number of Twitter users praised the “Barbarella” star’s move, calling her a “queen” with an “excellent shot.” Fonda wore a sequined black gown, a chain necklace, and matching earrings to the annual awards show.
