Jamie Foxx, 55, was hospitalized Wednesday after suffering a health complication. Corinne Foxx, daughter of Django Unchained actor Jamie Foxx, released a statement on Thursday. Family members of Jamie Foxx released a statement saying, We wish to inform you that he experienced a medical complication yesterday. It is a good thing that he is already on his way to recovery thanks to quick action and excellent care. You know how dear he is to us and we appreciate your prayers. A statement signed by the family requested privacy, which was accompanied by these words: During this time, the family requests privacy. TMZ reported that the actor was hospitalized. Jamie Foxx was seen in recent weeks on the set of Back In Action, a Netflix film in which he co-stars with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close. In addition to They Cloned Tyrone, God Is a Bullet, The Burial, Tin Soldier, and Groove Tails, the actor has a busy schedule. Additionally, he will be giving a voiceover in the film Strays and producing a project called Geechee. At the 77th Academy Awards, Jamie Foxx won Best Actor for his performance in Ray. He also starred in Collateral, Django Unchained, Baby Driver, Jarhead, Dreamgirls, Annie, and Just Mercy. Among his most famous roles was Electro in Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She assured fans that he is already improving. It is with great sadness that we must inform you that my father, Jamie Foxx, suffered a medical complication yesterday. The good news is that thanks to quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery. The statement acknowledged how beloved he is and thanked you for praying for him. The family requested privacy. Recent photos show the 55-year-old actor on the set of Back In Action, a movie starring Cameron Diaz. In this highly anticipated film, Diaz and Foxx will star together for the first time since 2014’s Annie remake. Insiders told PEOPLE that Foxx and the Charlie’s Angels actress “have great chemistry” on set despite Netflix’s secrecy about the plot of Back in Action.
PEOPLE previously reported that Foxx was instrumental in securing the actress’ next project. She has known Foxx for years and has worked with him for many years, so when this project came up, she decided to pursue it. As part of his birthday celebration, the actor shared a throwback black-and-white photo of himself as a child and reflected on his childhood in December.
