According to reports, Meta is all set to end its Facebook Watch original programming which includes the popular show Red Table Talk by Jada Pinkett Smith.

Facebook officially cancels Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk

Meta confirmed on Thursday that they are canceling its Facebook Watch original programming. 

Moreover, they have halted the new seasons of the series including the Red Table Talk. It is hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and her daughter Willow Smith.

In addition, the 51-year-old actress later revealed on Instagram Thursday that they are currently busy trying to find a ‘new home’ for the hit series.

She wrote, ‘We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and we are sorry to see the entire team disband. We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come.’

She continued, ‘We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.’

Besides that, Facebook Watch has released multiple shows such as Piece of Mind with Taraji P. Henson along with The Biebers on Watch.

They have also released the drama series titled, Sorry For Your Loss by Elizabeth Olsen as well as Limetown with Jessica Biel.

Red Table Talk is produced by Westbrook Studios and debuted its first episode in 2018. Furthermore, it bagged a Daytime Emmy award for an outstanding informative talk show in 2021. 

Additionally, the online talk show premiered five seasons and later launched the spinoff Red Table Talk: The Estefans.

Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith shared her goal of expanding the Red Table Talk during an interview with Rolling Stone in 2021.

She said, ‘To be able to sit [as] three Black women and see the variety of perspectives is really interesting because I know a lot of people just like to put Black women in one big old pot. That myth has to be dissolved.’

Jada’s daughter Willow Smith on the other hand also reflected on what the talk show means to them during the interview.

She mentioned, ‘We saw how much it helps us.’

Willow went on to reveal that the show echoes the real conversations she has with her mom and grandmother.

She added, ‘It was like, “Whoa, this is really uncovering some things. I wonder if we can give this feeling to others.”‘
